Our History- 46 Years of Experience…

In 1977, L. George and Einez Yap embarked on an extraordinary journey that would shape the destiny of LEASA Industries. Arriving as immigrants from Jamaica, they settled in Miami with little more than a dream and an unwavering determination to thrive. With borrowed funds from supportive family and friends, they took a bold step forward, purchasing a bankrupt company in Liberty City, FL, despite lacking any prior experience in the sprouts business.

Confronted with daunting challenges and uncertainties, L. George and Einez committed wholeheartedly to the venture. L. George labored tirelessly, averaging 16-hour workdays, seven days a week, while Einez pursued a business education and balanced two jobs to sustain their family. Their resilience and unyielding dedication were put to the test as they navigated the business's initial hurdles.

During those early stages, the company faced precarious financial circumstances. Despite generating only $175 in sales, it incurred staggering losses of $30,000 within the first four months of operation. Nevertheless, L. George and Einez refused to yield to adversity. Fueled by grit and determination, they pressed on, surmounting obstacles and laying the groundwork for future triumphs.

As the business gradually gained momentum and prospered, L. George and Einez's relentless work ethic and commitment to excellence came to fruition. Their visionary leadership and steadfast dedication transformed LEASA Industries into a flourishing enterprise renowned for innovation, perseverance, and unwavering quality.

The company's name is a testament to their family's legacy. It is derived from the first initial of each family member: Livingston, Einez, Andrew, Sean, and Allison. They later named their youngest daughter Lisa in honor of the company.

Unexpectedly, in 2005, Einez passed away, leaving a legacy of resilience, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit. Her absence is deeply felt within the company and the community she helped nurture.
